Roar

A young Heath Ledger leads a small band of Celts against the Roman Empire as they attempt to occupy Ireland. This 1997 series, which lasted only one season, had a similar look to the then popular "Xena: Warrior Princess" and "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" shows, but was smarter, more complex, and character driven. Swords, sandals, and a frequently shirtless Heath Ledger round out the brilliant, but short-lived appeal of "Roar."
