POST SHOW INTERVIEW:
| Q: |
Has appearing on BMB changed your life in any way? If so, how?
| Michael: |
It has changed my life in a couple of ways. I seem to have earned a new level of respect from two of my uncles that are gay. They love me very much now (and before the show), but I can feel this little extra "good for you, I'm proud." It's a really good feeling. Another way my life has changed is that it actually hasn't changed. I'll explain. I have been pursuing an acting career since November 2000 and I moved to Hollywood at the end May 2003 to pursue my dream as an actor full-time. Most everyone knows that it's as fickle of a business as can be. I have been marketing myself and do to the publicity from BMB I have landed better gigs. And each job propels me that much further. The point is, that without the show under my belt I probably would have given up on an acting career in the near future. How I marketed myself and how I'm living at this time are two stories in themselves and I will leave them for another time. Is there a bigger change than a career path?
| Q: |
Have you kept in contact with any of the other participants on the show? If so, who?
| Michael: |
I was keeping in contact with Dan shortly after the show but it wasn't being reciprocated. I sent an e-mail to Andra and she responded. It was merely cordial communication which is cool, but that's it. Group e-mails go out but none of them require response.
| Q: |
Did you learn anything new about yourself through participating in this show?
| Michael: |
I did learn some things about myself. I'm a nice guy and stay true to my path. Does anyone in this world really know what we're supposed to do? Just stay true to yourself. Do things by feeling. Follow your heart. I'll stop here. What I'm getting at is that I have gained confidence - a lot more confidence.
| Q: |
What was your favorite part of the experience?
| Michael: |
I loved most of it. Most everyone was nice and easy to get along with. Commodious accommodations. It was exactly like a vacation for me. I'm a lounge master."
| Q: |
What one thing didn't make it into the final show that you wish America could have seen?
| Michael: |
I wish America could have seen that I stopped playing the game when every move from that point forward would be lies and deception, all of which would have ended in people really getting hurt in a permanent way. Most humans are unable to discern what is situational and what is life. Scary stuff.
| Q: |
What was the hardest thing about pretending to be a gay man?
| Michael: |
Remembering to act feminine all the time. I act feminine from time to time, but not all the time. Also, flirting with men. Out of the gate I was doing it but after real feelings came back, I just couldn't do it anymore.
